Question 1

Where are my files? (download page)

Accepted Answer

Your files live on your Polar download page. Polar (my checkout partner) emails the receipt with its link right after you pay. Lost it? Open the download page below and enter the email you paid with: Polar emails you a sign-in code.

Question 2

Unzipping the layered Procreate files (4 zips)

Accepted Answer

The 32 layered .procreate files come in four separate zips, named by the pieces inside: 01-09, 10-17, 18-25 and 26-32. Each one is complete on its own, so there's nothing to join or merge and no 7-Zip needed: unzip each zip, and put everything in one folder if you want all 32 together.

Question 3

Installing the brushes in Procreate

Accepted Answer

On your iPad, tap the .brushset file (in Files, Mail or the download page): it opens Procreate and the set appears at the top of your Brush Library. Needs Procreate 5 or newer.

Question 4

Adding the colour swatches to Procreate

Accepted Answer

Tap “Jiigetsu Skin Tones.swatches” and “Jiigetsu Zonal Colours.swatches” on your iPad: Procreate adds each one to your Palettes.

Question 5

Opening the layered .procreate files

Accepted Answer

After unzipping, tap any .procreate file in the Files app: it opens in Procreate's Gallery with every layer intact. You can also import several at once from Procreate's Gallery → Import.

Question 6

Installing the Photoshop brushes (beta)

Accepted Answer

Unzip “Jiigetsu Brushes - Photoshop (beta).zip”, then in Photoshop open Window → Brushes, click the panel menu (☰) → Import Brushes… and choose the .abr file. Double-clicking the .abr also works.

Question 7

Installing the Krita brushes (beta)

Accepted Answer

Unzip “Jiigetsu Brushes - Krita (beta).zip”. In Krita go to Settings → Manage Resources…: use Import Bundle for a .bundle file, or Import Resources for .kpp brush presets. Restart Krita if they don't show.

Question 8

Installing the Clip Studio Paint brushes (beta)

Accepted Answer

Unzip “Jiigetsu Brushes - Clip Studio (beta).zip”, then drag the .sut files onto Clip Studio's Sub Tool palette, or use the Sub Tool palette menu → Import sub tool.

Question 9

Using the layered PSD files

Accepted Answer

Unzip “Jiigetsu Layered PSD Files.zip” (about 1.4 GB) and open any .psd in Photoshop, Krita, Clip Studio Paint, Affinity or Procreate. Layers come through intact; layer effects may vary outside Photoshop.

Question 10

The 19-step guide (PDF)

Accepted Answer

“Jiigetsu 19-Step Guide - Edition 1.pdf” is a normal PDF: open it in Books, Files, Acrobat or any browser. New editions land on the same download page.

Question 11

My free brush email never arrived

Accepted Answer

It usually lands within a couple of minutes. Search for “Jiigetsu” in Promotions, Updates and Spam. Still nothing? Have it sent again below: it goes to the address you signed up with.

Question 12

Refunds and faulty files

Accepted Answer

These are instant digital downloads, so all sales are final once your files are available. If a file is broken or won't import, I'll fix or replace it (and refund the faulty item if I genuinely can't). Accidental duplicate charges are refunded in full.

Question 13

Can I use it for commercial work?

Accepted Answer

Yes: paint with the brushes and swatches for personal and paid work, prints and clients, and study the layered files as much as you like. You can't share, resell or redistribute the files themselves, or repost my pieces as yours.

Question 14

What Lifetime access includes

Accepted Answer

The Lifetime Studio Pass is everything in the Complete Bundle plus every piece I finish from now on (.procreate and .psd), every new guide/book edition (digital) and every brush update, on the same download page. One payment, no subscription.

Question 15

Upgrading from the Bundle to Lifetime

Accepted Answer

Bundle owners can upgrade to Lifetime for $20 within 7 days of buying the bundle ($49 after that). Use the upgrade link in your purchase email, or the thank-you page.

Question 16

Which apps and devices does it work with?

Accepted Answer

The brushes are built for Procreate 5 or newer on iPad. Photoshop, Krita and Clip Studio versions are included as a beta. The layered pieces come as .procreate and .psd, so they open in Procreate, Photoshop, Krita and Clip Studio.

Question 17

Not enough storage / downloads failing

Accepted Answer

The full download is about 9.5 GB. Download one zip at a time on Wi-Fi, unzip it, then delete the zip before the next. If a download stops halfway, start that file again from the download page (links refresh each visit).

Question 18

Payment problems at checkout

Accepted Answer

Checkout is run by Polar. If a payment fails, check the card details and billing country, try another card, or wait a few minutes and try again. If you were charged but got no receipt, check Spam for “Polar”, then send me a message below.
